Goose Day

Join us on Sunday 15th December from 11am to 4pm for our Goose Day.

There’s lots to look forward to at our Goose Day this Sunday!

In addition to crafts, winter treats, and informative displays which will be available in the Visitor Centre all day long, there will be several special talks held in the Pumphouse throughout the day. All are free of charge with no need to book.

11AM – “Looking at Composition in Wildlife Paintings”, an all-ages talk by local wildlife artist Dave Daly
2PM – An in-depth look at the history and conservation of the Greenland White-fronted Goose by education guide Grace
3PM – A goose story time for younger audiences by the North Slob’s conservation ranger

To cap the day off, there will be an evening Goose Watch in the Tower at 4PM, hoping to spot the geese as they depart for their nightly roost. Unlike the rest of the day’s events, Goose Watch must be booked in advance as there is only a limited amount of space in the Tower. To make a booking, or if you have any questions, contact us on 01 539 3460 or wwreducation@npws.gov.ie
