It's the Living Earth Festival from May 16th to 24th but obviously this year we can't hold events down at the Centre. If you go to the menu at the top of the page, under activities you'll find a couple of quizzes to test your knowledge. Answers to the mammal quiz will be given next Sunday, at the end of the festival.
Ireland’s National Parks and Nature Reserves remain accessible to the public and have seen an upsurge in visitors in recent days. While the Parks and Reserves remain open, visitor centres and information points are closed on foot of Government measures to combat the spread of Covid-19. The Visitor Centre and hides will close today, Thursday 12th March, and will remain closed until further notice. We will post on here and facebook when the Reserve re-opens.
On Tuesday 17th December we had a film crew from RTE filming for a forthcoming episode of Ear to the Ground here at the Reserve and around the North Slob. The weather was extremely bright and dry so certainly showed the surroundings and the birds off really well. We don't have a definite date yet for the airing of the programme but once we do we'll put the information up here and on Facebook.

Unfortunately, a disease fatal to rabbits and hares, but of no risk to humans, has been confirmed in a hare at the Wexford Wildfowl Reserve. If you see any suspected ill hares on our Reserve, can you please contact the Visitor Centre at the desk or on (0761) 002660. Thank you.
