It's the Living Earth Festival from May 16th to 24th but obviously this year we can't hold events down at the Centre. If you go to the menu at the top of the page, under activities you'll find a couple of quizzes to test your knowledge. Answers to the mammal quiz will be given next Sunday, at the end of the festival.

Access to National Parks and Nature Reserves

Ear to the Ground

On Tuesday 17th December we had a film crew from RTE filming for a forthcoming episode of Ear to the Ground here at the Reserve and around the North Slob. The weather was extremely bright and dry so certainly showed the surroundings and the birds off really well. We don't have a definite date yet for the airing of the programme but once we do we'll put the information up here and on Facebook.

Deadly disease in Irish hares and rabbits

Unfortunately, a disease fatal to rabbits and hares, but of no risk to humans, has been confirmed in a hare at the Wexford Wildfowl Reserve.
